Welcome to Dr. Richman's Clinical Psychology Online PSYC3145V

Whoa dude!  This is totally cool (again)!  You can you can learn all about clinical psychology but without going to school.  There are awesome (well kinda neat) study guides and if you don't understand something you can e-mail Dr. Richman and he'll explain it.

Required Text: Clinical Psychology (6th ed.) by Trull and Phares or 7th ed. by Trull (basically the same book)

If you are thinking about taking this course, the first thing you should do is read this entire page.

The second thing you should do is download the SYLLABUS and READ IT CAREFULLY.   You should take this course only if you agree to all of the conditions stated in the syllabus (especially regarding tests) AND only if you believe you have the self-discipline to study and learn the material pretty much on your own.

I know, that's a lot to read but it will help you avoid problems later on.

The third thing to do (after registration) is check the "NEWS" section often.

The text for this course (see syllabus) is Clinical Psychology: 6th edition (by Trull and Phares) or 7th edition (by Trull).  Either edition is OK.  From what I have seen so far there are virtually no differences.  If, as you read and study, you do notice any inconsistencies between the study guides and text, please let me know.  Thanks.

click here for the > Syllabus

WORD DOCUMENT INSTRUCTIONS: Follow these instructions to download, view and print.   When you left click on "Syllabus" (or other "document/text" files) on a CSU (or other  "Microsoft Word" equipped computer), the document should automatically open.  You can then read it or print it.  If it doesn't open or you just want to save without reading, right click on "Syllabus" and select "save target as" to save the file to your hard drive.   If you don't have Microsoft Word, "Wordpad" in Windows/Accessories should work too.  Make sure to remember the directory in which you stored the file so you can find it later.

If you open the file on a CSU computer (which uses Office 2000 or XP) but are using an older software version at home (e.g., Word 6.0 or 97), specify that  "filetype" (e.g., Word 6.0) in the save box "filetype option" before you save it from the "Word" program.  Otherwise you may not be able to open it.

SOME IMPORTANT POINTS: The entire course will be run from THIS PAGE, NOT Cougarview/Vista.

When you do go to Vista, you will see "Tabs"  to click on like "syllabus," "my grades," and "assessments."  To avoid confusion, PLEASE DISREGARD THEM.  There is no "syllabus" there, "my grades" may not be accurate (it won't reflect curves, corrections, etc.), and "assessments" only provides a "time log" of your online test if needed in case of a problem.

Everything you need (except for online tests) is HEREVista. will be used for online testing ONLY.

Please  DON'T send email to me at Vista because it won't get read. Please send all emails to richman_harvey@colstate.edu

MOST IMPORTANT: Check "NEWS" often for test dates, test results, etc.
