The department’s curriculum encompasses the behavioral and social sciences, including theoretical, empirical, and applied approaches. Faculty attempt to instill critical thinking skills that help students develop a solid foundation in theory, research, and application.

Students have opportunities to engage in research with faculty and explore specialty areas including evolutionary psychology, animal behavior, consciousness, pseudopsychology, African studies, urban legends, social work, and clinical sociology. Internships are available to qualified students.
